Advertising is an investment. It’s all about bang for your buck. When it comes down to it, you need the most cost-effective signage for your purposes. This doesn’t mean the most expensive – it means the most appropriate for your situation.
In this blog, we’re looking at two of the most popular forms of signage – vinyl banners and ACM panel signs. Two great forms of signage, yet very different. We’re going to take a look at exactly what they are, their advantages, and then answer that all-important question: which one should you go with?
What are ACM panel signs?
ACM panel signage is all about using Aluminium Composite Material to create eye-catching signs. You’ve got lightweight panels with two aluminium sheets bonded to a polyethylene core. They look sleek and modern, especially when you add high-resolution graphics and branding elements.
Another great thing about these signs is that they’re tough! They can handle any weather thrown at them, and they won’t fade or lose their charm over time. That’s why you’ll spot them on building exteriors, storefronts and even as wayfinding signs.
These panels are also completely customisable. Their size is only limited by the wall space or the supporting frame you have available. So, if you want signage that’s durable, weather-resistant and still super stylish, ACM panel signage is a great way to go.
What are the benefits of ACM panel signs?
- Durable
- Weather resistant
- UV resistant
- Sleek look
- Highly customisable
What are stretched vinyl banner signs?
At the other end of the signage spectrum we have vinyl banner signs, which are super flexible and lightweight. These banners are made from a commercial-grade PVC (polyvinyl chloride) material suitable for outdoors. They are attached to an aluminium frame which that can be fixed directly to a wall and allows you to change the banner quickly and cost-effectively.
The banner has a bead welded to it that allows us to insert it on to an aluminium track and then stretch it to any size(which is why it’s also known as a stretched banner).
Though they aren’t as durable as ACM panel signage, they can still last for 1 to 3 years.
Vinyl banners won’t break the bank. They’re a cost-effective option that lets you get your message out there without breaking a sweat.
What are the benefits of vinyl banner signs?
- Lightweight
- Economical
- Banner is changeable
- Can be made to any size
So which one should I choose?
Vinyl banners or ACM panel signs? The answer depends on what you want. Let’s take a look at some key factors to consider and which type of signage is better suited to them.
Durability – ACM panel signs are more durable than vinyl banners, so if you want signage that remains the same and lasts for longer than 3 years, go with that.
Changeability – Stretched vinyl banners can be switched out for a new banner while keeping the same aluminium frame, keeping costs down.
Price – Stretched vinyl banners are a cheaper solution than ACM panel signs, but this comes at the cost of durability. They won’t last as long as ACM panel sings, with 3 years being about their max duration.
Short term – If you’re only looking for signage that lasts around 3 years, then stretched vinyl banners are the answer, as they’re the cheaper option.
Both ACM panel signs and stretched vinyl banners are great options for larger outdoor advertising. ACM panel signs are tougher and more durable, but more expensive. Stretched vinyl banners are cheaper but won’t last as long (typically 1 to 3 years depending on sun exposure). Both can be made to any size and both look sleek and modern.
